A Few MORE Important Pictures!!!

One of our very special friends, Shirley Hendersen, 85 years young!  We discovered her on a Whose's Who list from Bishop Chilingirian's attempts to know who are in his ward.  She hasn't had contact with the church for 30 years or so and she originally didn't want us to come.  She was encouraged by her spiritual leaders to drop us but she and us fell in love!  We visit her every week now, a highlight of our week, and share a brief message.  We arranged a meeting with her and Bishop Chilingirian and we all had a blast.

This is Dalina Peguse, another of our special friends.  We attended her baptism and when the Elder's asked us to support her follow up teaching we did and now we are family.  She first appeared on our blog as she attended our Christmas Party for those who had no where to go to celebrate!  That was four months ago and we have visited her just about every week since then.

This picture also show pink streamers in the background.  These were left overs from Cathi's birthday party.  I got up at 2:00 AM so as to surprise Cathi, and drapped these all over our living room and blew up 25 very large pink balloons.  One could not negotiate the living room without having to kick balloons out of the way.  We liked the festivity decorations so much we left them up for almost a month.

President Wood (2nd mission president) asked us to attend all the District Council meetings in our two zones.  We have five districts in those two zones.  Three of these are English speaking: Lake Shore-2 (our original district, not shown), Lake Shore-1, (the district shown to the left) and Chicago-1.  We also have two Spanish Speaking districts, Logan Square District, and Chicago 5.  I wish we had taken pictures of all these young Elders, Sister and Hermanos as we have had such a great experience with all of them.  We will have to take pictures following the next transfer!  Just to liven our zones up, we have French speaking Elders, Swahili speaking Elders and African Elders (all other African continent speaks).  Many of these Missionaries hail from all over the world!
