Another picture of the Clark Building from the front with a view of the steeple! Yes, it really does have a steeple.
Elder Nield-Geranios with the thumbs up is from Zimbabwe. I love his accent. I am a little partial to British accents in all the varieties.
Elder Vakkaus is from Ukraine. He is a very sweet Elder, always trying to do his best. English is his second language. He gave a talk where he spoke of cleaning the temple near him and asked another worker, how to clean something and she said, "if it is shiny then it is supposed to shine!" He used that as a metaphor of righteousness. I loved it!

Another picture of the amazing architecture in Chicago. I have repeatedly tried to explain to the locals how amazed I am with the size of the brick skyscrapers (25+ stories)! I mean they are made of brick! And with the old brick comes all the enhancements of the era. To the right is a picture Sister Niven took when we were driving into Chicago. This is an entry way into a school. Look at the stonework. The attention to detail. I absolutely love it. I marvel at the quality of the work and the excess of embellishments. I mean one just doesn't see this type of work anymore. Some of these building have names on them. Some have dates of construction. We passed one that was built in 1902 and it looked beautiful. I do not know what type of up-keep is required but whatever it is, the buildings overall look spectacular. There will be extensive streets like ours where these huge and very narrow four-story apartments are just lined up one after another and they go on for miles. Each is slightly different one from the another, different lintels, different sandstone carvings and elaborate entryways like our flat. Just beautiful!
