Some of our loved ones!

Elder Nield-Geranios from Zimbabwe giving Sister Niven an elephant carving!

Hawa, an amazing woman from Liberia, who lives on the third floor, and who could not come down the stairs to let us in because of knee surgery, decided to lower her keys out her window attached to a roll of trash bags.  It worked!  She has had a traumatizing childhood (see my journal) but is a true Christian.  Baptized a couple of months ago.

This is the Bozorgi family.  This is an activity we did illustrating that God knows our potential.  We took a picture of the traditional food!  Wow, especially the swirled custard type dish in front of the flowers.  This experience prompted Sis. Bozorgi, who speaks little English, to feel comfortable enough to come and sit with us and make balloon animals during the Halloween party (pictures to follow)!

These last two pictures are of two of our favorites!  This was the night of transfers and we fed them a going away dinner.  We had taco salad.  At the end of the meal I offered everyone some kimchi!  Elder Vakkaus (from Ukraine), decided he would give it a try.  Look at his expression above.  "It tastes just like it smells!"  But to his credit, he ate it all up!
