This is Elder Noble. He is the Elder in charge of the housing for the all the missionaries. He and his wife, the mission secretary, have completed their mission and are going home. He dropped by some last-minute items we had requested, i.e. vacuum, supplies, etc. He and I have not always seen eye to eye regarding our different callings and purposes but it is uncanny how similar we are to each other is attitude, focus, etc. Had we met in different circumstances, I have no doubt he and I would have become life long friends! The mission will miss him and we appreciate all he has done for us.
This is one of our dear friends, Cora Montgomery and her friend Kristin. We dropped by one day and hit it off so well we have made visiting her a bi-weekly imperative. We have taught, shared, prayed, blessed her and she and I are now helping her publish her memoirs. This is a meal we were invited to at her house. She made amazing salmon. The Lord will bless her for her love and support of us.
A selfie of the three of us!
This is where Cathi and I get our hair cuts.
Johnny Blades! Who can resist a hair salon called Johnny Blades. The picture to the right is one of their seats for your younger patrons.

We have occasional potluck lunches for the Senior Missionaries. This was the latest. As we are quite busy with our friends from our three wards we often do not take the day (90 min. drive one way on a good day) off to attend as it requires an entire day. No doubt we are enhancing our aloofness. We do not know most of them very well as we only interact maybe once per month. These are all strong, diligent servants and we have been blessed to associate with them. Most are MLS missionaries converted to part-time Office Missionaries in shepherding the young missionaries through apartment inspection and maintenance. Cathi and I have the largest area, responsible for two zones and 19 apartments and to do physical inspections would require nearly all of our time. We came up with a virtual inspection system which cuts our time by at least 80%, allowing us to work with three wards under the direction of our assigned Stake President. Even with Mission President approval of our virtual inspection system, we were highly criticized by some in this group for our rebellious deviation. from tradition. Interestingly, when the new inspection forms were distributed by church headquarters, it included the option of doing a virtual one. I feel vindicated yet I feel saddened by the hard feelings.
This last video is of an Elder from another zone who entertained us at a multi-zone Conference. You never know the talent hidden in the mission. I could only record a small portion but you get the idea. He was nearly as entertaining as Elder Mason and Swenson playing Christmas music using a Ukelele and a flute!
